Frank Viscuso is a career deputy chief from Hudson County, NJ, one of the most densely populated counties in the country. Bryan Emenecker has been in the fire service for 25 year, spending the last 17 with the City of Camden Fire Department. Through his career in Camden, he has worked Ladder Co. 2, and Rescue 1, and is currently assigned as the Captain on Squad 7. He is a certified level 2 fire instructor for the state of New Jersey and a certified instructor through the University of Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. Michael Terpak has been in the fire service for 35 years spending the last 31 years with the Jersey City Fire Department where he is assigned as a Deputy Chief and City-Wide Tour Commander. Throughout his career he has worked in the city’s Lafayette and Greenville areas with Engines 10 & 17, Ladder 12, Rescue 1, Chief of the city’s 2nd Battalion and the former Chief in-charge of the city’s Training Division. Terpak travels extensively around the country lecturing on fire/rescue topics and is the founder of Promotional Prep, a New Jersey based consulting firm designed to prepare firefighters and fire officers studying for promotional exams. Chief Terpak, who also holds a BS degree in Fire Safety Administration from the City University of New Jersey is the author of two best selling books, “Fireground Size-Up” and “Assessment Center Strategy and Tactics” available from Fire Engineering Books and Videos. John Riker is a seasoned 42 year veteran and city wide tour commander with the Newark, New Jersey, Fire Department. He is a NJ state certified instructor, and the lead instructor for FDIC aerial ladder H.O.T. operations. He is also a general partner in Emergency Training Associates, LLC; a fire service consulting firm. His articles and videos have been featured in Fire Engineering and Firehouse magazines.

Donald Colarusso has been in the fire service for over 25 years. He presently serves as Chief of the Neptune Fire Department in central New Jersey and is the President of All Hands Fire Equipment (www.AllHandsFire.com). Don is a NJ State Certified Level 2 fire instructor and on staff for the Northern Ocean County Fire Academy, where in 2012 he was named “Instructor of the Year”. He is one of only a few instructors in the United States who is authorized to provide instruction on all of the leading NFPA 1983 Firefighter Escape Systems that are available. Don has a diverse background, including experience as an assistant county fire coordinator, a deputy district forest fire warden and fire inspector. Contributor – Battalion Chief Jim Silvernail
Jim Silvernail, a second generation firefighter, is a battalion chief with the Metro West Fire Protection District of St. Louis County, MO. He is the author of Suburban Fire Tactics (Fire Engineering Books and Videos, 2013). Jim has over 15 years of operational experience and is a lead instructor at the St. Louis County Fire Academy, specializing in truck company operations. He is also a member of MO-TF 1 (a FEMA Urban Search & Rescue team) and recently deployed to Hurricane Sandy in New York, NY (2012) as a planning team manager.
Chief Silvernail’s formal education includes: an AAS in Fire Protection Technology, a BA in Business Administration, and an MS in Human Resource Management. In addition to Suburban Fire Tactics, Jim has written numerous articles for Fire Engineering magazine. He is a workshop instructor at the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) and presents at various regional deliveries.

Mike Daley has served over 25 years in the emergency services, in various Fire, Rescue and EMS positions. He is currently working as a Lieutenant for Monroe Township (NJ) Fire District #3, and serves as the department’s Training Officer. Lt. Daley is the owner and founder of Fire Service Performance Concepts, and is an instructor with the Middlesex County Fire Academy and serves as a Rescue Officer and staff instructor for New Jersey Task Force 1 – Urban Search and Rescue.
Lt. Daley has been published in many of the leading fire service trade magazines, and is currently a monthly columnist on firehouse.com as well as a Technical Rescue contributor for Firehouse Magazine.
